'The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent in an unprecedented way, with unlimited opportunities. But does democratized culture mean better art or is true talent instead drowned out? This is the question addressed by PressPausePlay, a documentary film containing interviews with some of the world's most influential creators of the digital era.'

An a amazing documentary here and it's to stream for free !! Includes some great names and poses excellent questions of creativity in the ever changing digital ear we live in.

Real Scenes : Detroit...

Real Scenes: Detroit from Resident Advisor on Vimeo.

Another great short film from Resident Advisor. I post one about Bristol's electronic music scene not too long ago and now we have the next installment, this time from Detroit.

Real Scenes: Bristol...

Real Scenes: Bristol from Resident Advisor on Vimeo.

'The eyes of the world have turned to the UK in recent years and have found some of the most exciting, genre-defying young artists to emerge from electronic music. But while London's scene can be fractious and hard to pin down, there seems to be something in the air in Bristol that unites its participants. Whether they're creating dubstep, house, techno or something else entirely, the cross-pollination in Bristol is unique. In RA's first official entry into video, we journey to Bristol to explore how the city has flourished in recent years, discovering why this small metropolis is one of the most influential electronic music outposts in the world today.'

A really insightful short documentary on Bristol electronic music here. Its nice to see the studios behind the artists and hear from there views on the scene.

SBTRKT Bicycle film festival...

Heres two really interesting films for the Bicycle Film Festival and SBTRKT has provide the audio. The electronic sounds work really well with the archive footage making a sort of audio narrative.

Harmonic 313 album site...

Found this site on Favourite Website Awards along with many others that I will later post.

I found these really inspiring, especially as Im working on a flash project at the moment, due to there abstract nature creating something much more interactive and entertaining.

Also on this site if you win the game you get a free download which is nice !

Jack Featherstone...

It's Nice That Talk #12 – Jack Featherstone from It's Nice That on Vimeo.

I found out about this designer though W210 and came across a Graduate talk on his website. I found this talk really interesting as it told a good story of him going mainly through University and after but what i liked most was the body of work of which he had, going from typography to animation and various other formats but with each one held his own particular style.

Here is his website which i found really inspiring particularly The Count And Sinden - Visuals and Play With Type.

Martyn Interview...

This is a nice interview found on Erosie blog and from On-Point.be, not only is the filming nice and a bit experimental for an interview but some of the information Martyn I found really insightful. Martyn is one of my top rated artists ever and some of the thing which he said in the interview only made my appricaition for his music even more.

Matt Bridgeman Website...

Autonomic release the next fabriclive...

Found this news on an article over at FACT MAGAZINE. I am very excited about this, I have been a big fan of dbridge and instra:mental's striped down beats as they are seriously pushing new sounds in the genres of drum and bass, dubstep, techno etc.

From Fact Magazine the trio said this "We wanted the fabric CD to be like the best podcast we've ever done," says dBridge. "That was our aim. When we were asked to do it, we approached all the people making music we love, and asked them to write us something special for the CD. Distance, Scuba, Genotype, myself and Instra:mental all did it." If this is the case then I think this is going to be a good'un, their podcasts are so diverse in the day and age of the podcast now becoming a dumbed down mix with some speaking about various tracks over the top but theirs contain influences from any genre , new tracks from them and others and a whole heap of easy listening good music.

This is going to be big.

song of the moment...

Song of the moment.

This week I have been mostly listening to....

I brought this compilation a couple of weeks ago and to say that it is good is the biggest understatement of the year.

It has a selection of old and new songs from the hyperdub label.
